Got my FR in mystery blue from the dealers 2 hours ago. Sad to say farewell to the 2014 emocion red FR, but hey, every cloud has a silver lining! Think I might go for another spin....

What's new in your new FR compared to your old FR?

You have to turn it on with the button below the handbrake button, it has an 'a' on it or something like that. The led will light up on the button and then it'll work. Auto hold will hold the car indefinitely on any gradient with a firm push on the brake pedal, then simply drive away and it auto releases when your clutch is lifted slightly.

Great thanks. Any ideas about getting the side mirrors to lower when reversing?

Dealer told me to put the mirror adjustor on to "L" - but still not working..

Anybody know how to adjust the angle of the front LEDs on the car?

Assuming it works the same in the facelift MK3 and the regular MK3, should be accesible via a long-ish 4-head screwdriver to raise or lower the angle of the LEDs (I'm assuming you mean dipped beam headlights?).

This can be found once you open the hood of the car, and around where the lights are on top, should be a white-ish screw thing you can turn. There are a plethora of forums discussing this somewhere...

Please only do this when you are far ish from a wall so you can measure before and after height of lights on the wall.

Mine has done it as standard ever since I picked it up. I leave the mirror adjuster on L all of the time. If it's not lowering there is a menu on the infotainment somewhere that you have to check the box on.

Just took delivery of a 1.8TSI, loving it so far. Probably because it's the first car I've driven under 10 years old.

I have noticed that the wipers make a bit of a rough sound and are really bad at clearing the screen, always leaving a smear.

Is this a new car thing?

My last 3 new cars have had shocking wipers/windscreens upon delivery, unfortunately you can only tell when it rains.

Highly likely that there's a load of dirt/fallout on the surface of the windscreen, which will leave a sort of ghosting whenever the wipers sweep across it. It'll sound 'rough' too.

My Leon had this, and I gave it a year, hoping in time that the problem would kinda fix itself as the wipers rubbed across the screen. Alas, it did not.

What DID make a huge difference was a product called 'Bar Keeper's Friend'. You can get it from Lakeland and/or most supermarkets. It's a powder, so it's abrasive, so you'll need to be careful... I made up a watery paste of BKF and went over the outside of the windscreen with it. It helped lift all those extra sticky marks, even better than a clay bar could (its acidic too).

Not satisfied, I then went over it again with BKF and wire wool, and managed to scratch (micro scratching) the entire bloody windscreen, so don't do that!! But if you use a cloth, and a mix of BKF, then you might get some reasonable results. But like I say, you gotta be careful, and you MUST rinse the windscreen and surrounds thoroughly afterwards. And for gods sake, don't get it on the paintwork.

I haven't yet found a glass cleaner that has done a better job though, and I've got a shed full of cleaning stuff.

Likely also that your wiper blades are probably filthy too, so cleaning them up with some neat screen wash on a cloth will help too. In the end I ended up getting some Bosch blades, which in conjunction with the BKF efforts removed all that horrible roughness.

Be careful though :)

Carlack do a 2 stage cleaner kit for glass. Contains the cleaner and then a sealant, it's amazing stuff. Get it from Cleanyourcar or Pollishedbliss

I park my car outside, where it's usually windy and also next to the A12 so it gets lots of sand/dirt you name it, its on my car. Usually before every journey (I drive only 2 sometimes 3 times a week), I would lift and tap the wipers gently on the windscreen, to dislodge any dirt, then blow away these debris that it has trapped collected on the rubber bits of the wiper, and on the windscreen. So no more juddery sweeps of the windscreen. I do also use Autoglym Extreme screenwash, not sure if that makes a difference, but I'm happy with them.

Hi All, Just registered as I have ordered a new Leon FR 1.8TSi 5 door on 18th July and was searching to find some info on build times and found this forum. Ordered in Monsoon grey with the newer 30/3 performance Alloys and the Alcantara Pack..... Can't wait, I used to have a Mk 2 Leon 1.9Tdi that I bought new back in 2007, they have come on massively since the Mk2!

I was told 12 weeks for delivery and main holdups were for the 1.4 EcoTSi variants (+9 weeks) and the Machined 18 inch wheels (+6 weeks), not sure how accurate that is though.

New facelift fr has different from and back bumpers, new wider front grill, led foglights, new redesigned headlights which are brighter and have indicators integrated into daytime running lights and new rear lights with integrated indicators in the rear light.

Inside, the infotainment system has a larger screen without the buttons around the outside and the door cards have colour changing led strip lights and there's also the electronic handbrake.

I think the big draw back on that big screen is the lack of buttons for shortcuts and the second fob for zooming in or out on Sat nav, or scrolling music

Ours doesn't. I drove a Golf GTI that had one when you were in sport mode. Horrendous sound!

I'm sorry for asking in the seat leon fr facelift version we have a button to turn the engine on/off? Or is it something optional?
