....whats the average price of the 30k service you guys have had? Ive seen numbers of 260ish, what makes it so dear?

Am i unreasonable in thinking that a full service is just that, everything changed-plugs, leads, oil & filter, radiator flush, brake fluid etc etc? As ive read in the past that people havent had this and that changed on a service.

Thanks in advance

Had one today £160ish it cost... :)

No it's just a basic service. Think you are thinking of 40K.

but whats entailed by a "basic service"
a service is a service and everything should be changed IMHO
thats what i always used to do with other cars ive had.
for £160 buck id expect alot more than just an oil change
can anyone tell me what is exactly changed at the 30k

You might be able to shave £20-30 off that price with a little shopping round. Try all the VAG dealers and see what they come up with, a few white lies and you should be able to pit their prices against each other.

I'm getting mine done in February for about £80 :p

Patterson Seat in Newcastle were doing a "book it now and get up to 50% off" before Christmas, I think the normal price was £155 iirc

My local garage charges £60 for minor and £100 for major services. Uses genuine Seat Parts too. Cheapest garage around.

cars in at ted johnsons today, got a new leon courtesy car which im not very keen on to be honest.

Im the first to use the SCN 10% discount, having the 30k, MOT as its nearly 3 years old and ordered the R front splitter and bonnet seal as well.

My 30k service cost £74 including an engine flush. It didn't need any extra work doing as it was just over a year old at the time. Had 50k service in November and it cost £124. Dreading 60K service right enough.

Well, it came in at 144 incl MOT, parts and labour
this will go up to 224ish as the car failed MOT so is going back monday but im also having the brake fluid changed and the p/s fluid also, as well as a few parts i asked for on top.

A bit peaved with Thornes at wakefield, the brake fluid is meant to be changed at 20k according to service schedules but as the previous owner only did 5k in 2nd year they left it, so its never been done.....and wasnt done as part of 30k service today (cars on just below 24k now). So ive had to shell for it myself.

Anyway, all in all great service and a great initiative for the SCN membership scheme
