Hello,

My other halfs 1.4 6J Ibiza has been excellent since we got it beginning of 2012 however no is showing some wired symptoms so I hoping for some help. Initially the car suddenly came up with the Power Steering and ABS warning lights the car was turned off then on again and they disappeared.

Next day same thing again but also the power steering stopped working when she got to work. Left work and it was working again. I got a friend who has a decent Snap On scanner to look at the codes and clear them all and then see which ones remained. What was left was ABS system - No comm intermittent/ No signal and ECU – No comms with ABS. However no lights on the dash. Other half used the car again and lights came on and PAS stopped working again so she drove the car home and left it while I went on holiday.

Came back a week later and looked at it again, no lights on the dash and all seemed fine, checked the fuses on top of the battery as I had read about this, also disconnected the battery and had it drop/load tested which came back fine. I also cleaned up the main fuse plate thing on the battery as it was quite corroded. Hooked it all back up and now have the steering wheel, ABS and general warning lights on. I have a VAG scanner and it is still showing no ABS comms. So this would seem light the logical place to start looking? Any pointers or common problems?

Cheers

I have checked the wiring to the ABS module and all looks ok, I even disconnected and reconnected the ABS module connector. When I went to look at the car yesterday, all seemed fine when I initially turned it on. Then a few mins after it being on, it pinged a few times and then the warning lights came on, ABS, PAS and General warning light. Could it be battery, even though it came back as being fine? It seems to me like an electronic or wiring issue somewhere but it seems really hard to pin down with the scanner not reporting much back other than the ABS module not communicating.

It isnt batery problem, if only two dtcs was registred after scanning car via diagnistic tool.

ABS system - No comm - intermittent say that there was problem on engine CANBUS with communication from /to ABS but now its OK. So I think there is only problem with bad connection (can bus wires). Maybe faulty connector in ABS or bad contact somewher in ABS electronic or fault in power distribution to ABS.Try to replace abs module but please store your ABS coding. It must be transfered to new ABS.
