For me it was a no brainier to add this to the Cupra R ST order, £500 and warranty safe without effecting tax/insurance. Win.

That would be why I’d want it for £500. Mere change for a warranty friendly upgrade!

Revo is working on a software, and is not far off. Old software is working, its just the emissions they are working on and will not release anything until its OK. Talked to them yesterday.

Only time I tried 0-100kph with my R ST it clocked 4.63sec with a Dragy

Are you sure it doesn’t effect insurance...

Well I’m certainly hoping so
Dealer told me the with or without tune insurance group will be 36 so it should be the same ?
I should find out by the end of the month

Edit: I think the dealer was talking s**te.
Just looked on an insurance comparison site and although they don’t have the R ST on their site yet, the R is listed and it does indeed have 2 options - ‘Standard’ and ‘ABT 370 upgrade’

It still may be cheaper then having to buy a tune after market and talk to a gormless idiot on a phone explaining what it is.. while your premium sky rockets!

The normal R didn't get the ABT upgrade, so that's probably the one.

Yes you are probably right.
Worrying though as it says 370 upgrade when in reality it’s only 350 !!!
They will of based it on the info given from Seat. Which I said was wrong on the day they launched it. I even messaged a dealer to say they should check it, but got shot down that Seat was right. Like they've never got it wrong before.

I just did a cursory comparison on the 2 different options, Standard and ABT 370 upgrade.

Standard cheapest 3 quotes are £400-500 with MoreThan,Esure & Shelias Wheels.
Then it’s £600 with Bell and £650 with Admiral.

With ABT selected the 3 cheapest above don’t offer a policy.
Bell £620 and Admiral £675.

So ~£20 more to insure with those that will insure the ABT Tune.
Shame the cheapest providers don’t support it however !!!!!

They might if you give them a call, if you have been using a comparison site they may not have that option in their list. Just be prepared for a potentially long phone call!

Have you tried Brentacre? They specialize in young/modified car insurance. By far the cheapest i've come across and i have a write off and 3 points in my last 5 years. you have to call them though they aren't on comparison sites.

I’ve made some headway with the insurance finally.
My insurer AXA will let me transfer my existing cover from my Mazda6 Sport to the R ST for no cost. It runs until end Sept.

The ABT 370 thing is still an issue though, I explained the car only has 350 and the lady from AXA said it’s not technically correct for the insurance then and they would need to get approval from the underwriters due to the difference in actual power and listed power.

I have been rattling cages at Seat the last week and received a reply today saying that they will remove the ‘370 ABT’ from the insurance database on June 20th and replace it with ‘ABT’ only.
See screenshot for the full email from them.

Further to above how this ABT pack works;

Dealer sends diagnostic logs from actual car to Richter Sport.
They programme the module to that cars VIN and send to dealer.
Dealer then fits module.

My logs were sent off today to Richter so all looking good for collection Friday :)))

Edit:

Oh Dealer also recommended to run 98Ron fuel with this pack.

Is that really nessesary ???

I would say so. If the map is set for 98+ ron fuel, if you don't run it, the car will pull timing, lose power, premature detonation.

Look on the bright side you can join our Shell V'Power club and get yourself another app for you phone for a free cup of coffe :)

As @Legojon said if the map is designed for 98 Ron you should run it on that.
