    hi

Ever since I’ve had my mk3 the acc will randomly give up, it can be sunny, raining, on the motorway or any other road and will just ping up as unavailable.
As soon as you turn the car off it becomes available again

I scanned the car with the Carista app and got the fault code ACC - 01541 which says - headlights being raised

Any ideas? The sensor is fine by the looks of it!

Following, cause I got the same and whenever I complain the dealer thinks all is normal. Since the car is on year 2 of a 5 year warranty, I am not that pissed.... yet.

Can’t help with the error other than to say it’s definately not normal. In daily use over 10k miles I’ve only had ACC disconnect as unavailable once.

I had the ACC fail a couple of times a long while ago, usually after driving in queuing traffic and using the ACC it crawl along and only using the brake when the beep tells me to.

Mine wouldn't reset with key off and on, had to go to the dealers to reset. They 're-flashed' the ACC computer and it's not happened in the last 2 years.

Just a thought, do the headlights self level when you turn the engine on?

Yes, mk3 with led and they do self level on start up

Sometimes when it’s cold ( less than 5degrees) the drivers light will self level to the lowest point, but as soon as the engine is warm it sorts its self out

Mine doesn’t do that, guess it could point to a levelling fault but why that would affect ACC is anyone’s guess. Did you clear the fault to see if it re-occurs?

Do you start your car - then switch on the lights ?
if yes - you have already missed the levelling process.

try this as a test - preferably somewhere you can see the lights shining against a wall.
Turn on the lights to full ( not auto )
    Start the engine
You should now see the light beam drop - then come back up to the set level.
