That's not a problem for me regarding wrapping as im planning on skinning it in real carbon fibre anyway, it's just it seems people are having problems getting the correct fit etc.

I'm torn between these:

Pioneer AVH-2300DVD (Slightly cheaper which is a good thing, but front USB = bad as i don't want anything hanging out of the front)

Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD - Extra £100 compared to the other but has bigger screen and rear USB...

I've got the P4300DVD, the P4200DVD is been phased out at the moment, only difference in spec is that the P4300DVD is able to use internet enhanced features when connected to the Iphone( pandora radio etc) , my thread is on here some where for my install :D

I have the Connects2 fascia nd i'm not at all happy with it. I have just ordered the avc one (this is listed on Pioneer's website as an accessory) to replace it, hoping that it will be a better quality item and it will not pop out of place everytime i detach my screen.

On another note, has anyone with the Seat bluetooth tried this ?

It may be the way to enable A2DP protocol in the Seat bluetooth in order to stream music via bluetooth to the standard head unit. By default, it is turned off as it shows in the picture.

What , realistically, is going to be the difference between
5NO 035 341 B which is the MDI unit for the VW/Skoda etc which is armrest mounted. and
6J0 035 342 C which is the unit for ours which is dashboard mounted?

I found this log on briskoda, which uses the same code as the unit we need.
Address 2E: Media Player 3 (J650) Labels: None
Part No SW: 6J0 035 342 C HW: 6J0 035 342 C
Component: SG EXT.PLAYER H13 0111
Revision: A1001003 Serial number: 7668684170
Coding: 020000
Shop #: WSC 64564 324 38760
VCID: 244C0FA29E5D

No fault code found.
The key thing here is the
Address 2E: Media Player 3 (J650)

Now, J650 is the VW specification for the USB/Aux-in configuration, so all VW's etc use the same type of connector round the back for plugging in the CUP, a 12 pin, blue plug, it's the same on the RNS310, 510 etc etc which all use the 5NO 035 341 B part.

My conclusion is that 5NO 035 341 B will work perfectly fine with our headunit's (Once the option has been activated via vag-com) and be much easier to source. The only downside is the actually fitting it bit, but in reality, all we need are the electronics bits, the rest could easily be home fabricated.

Thoughts?
