After sale USB connection and speaker upgrade

Hi all,

As the great British 'summer' is a bit closer I want to upgrade my sound system in My 08 Leon FR.

I have seen some recommendations for speakers but the posts were a while ago. What are the latest and greatest speakers for the car that can handle some bass? I don’t want anything in my boot and I would like to keep the standard head unit installed.

As I am a non techie when it comes to vehicles do you know a good place to get speakers fitted around the Milton Keynes area?

Also I would like to get the USB connection fitted (if possible). Does any one know if it supports the Zune (Microsoft version of the IPod).

Thanks everyone! :)

I'll just tag onto this as I'm looking at doing the same.

Any low/mid range speakers that can replace the OEM ones keeping oem tweeters?

jbl's new ones are designed to run off the headunit with a low impediance.

Id go for them. Thinks they are 80 quid a set.

I always found that the tweeters were the biggest issue. I put in the Infinity as posted elsewhere and was over the moon with them. They are components but with the tweeter attached! I have front and rear sets and fitting kits if your interested PM me!

Sounds good. Have you got a model number for them and where did you pick your ones up from?

Thank you,

Adam

Those arent components they are called coaxials, and imho infinitys are crap. I have infinity comps in my ibiza and they produce no bass whatsoever. Quite a few guys have commented on this also.

Avoid infinity ;)

oops sorry showing my ignorance there!!!

I always found them ok the doors would rattle before the bass broke up with a range of music. Could never be as good as a decent pair of 6x9's or similar but for general every day use they are 4,000,000 times better than the :w4nk: that Seat put in as standard they really are pants. My Missus old Lupo had better speakers!!!!
