Hi im new on here an realy need help.just bought a 2006 alhambra tdi engine code BRT.drove 800 miles in it with no issues but a week ago driving down the m1 i went to overtake but there was no power at the peddle geared down but nothing and ended up crawling at 5mph.trying to reach the layby as in speed restriction with no hard shoulder .engine started to rattle so immediatly turned it off and got recovered home next day i went to start it to see wot happend oil was kinda low but by no means empty topped up about a pint .at 1st engine rattled for 2 secs then cleared .it now starts first turn of the key and ticks over but peddle seems dead goes to around 1500 rpm with thick white smoke which smells like burning oil.anyone any ideas and if engine needs replacing how hard is it to go to 1.9 pd ..thanks
