Hi Folks, got a 54 plate altea 2.0TDI sport at the weekend and we love it! a couple of problems have shown up on VAG-Com (which i have)

Main frustration is trying to identify what fuse or relay controls the interior lights? manual is very vague! All of the interior lights dont work including the ones for the sunshade mirrors.

any help appreciated.

Thanks

Adam

Here is the vag com error btw

Hi Adam,

as I found different descriptions for the fuse setup throughout the changing model years, here's a vague approach to a solution:

1) german manual "Alemán 5P0012003A (01.04)" for modelyear 2005 states:
"#46 | Innenbeleuchtung | 7,5 amp." (=interior lights)

2) spanish manual "Español 5P0012003G (09.04)" says:
"#46 | Iluminación interior | 7,5 amp." (=interior lights)

3) now english manual "Inglés 5P0012003BA (07.06)" has:
"#46 | Rear electric windows | 30 amp."

4) same as the most current manual "Alemán 5P0012003CC (02.08)" claiming:
"#46 | Fensterheber hinten | 30 amp." (=rear electric windows)

3+4 both without mentioning interior light fuse at all.

Only 7,5amp fuse is for "cable control unit"
"#21 | Steuergerät Leitungen | 7,5 amp."

(while #21 was for the "gear selector lever" of the early 2.0 FSI Automatic in the first 2 manuals).

So if your 54 plate comes close to a modelyear 2004-2006 ... and your 17byte "Bordnetz-SG" is telling me that ...
#46 would be a good guess.

Wow Thank you Klaus, great research. I will try the fuse the minute i get home tonight and let you know how i get on. I wonder if there is a relay involved with the circuit i should check too. KL75 on the right hand side of module above the fusebox?

There is a 30 amp. fuse for the door ECU, which controls power windows, electric mirrors and central locking.
The fuse is situated underneath the steering wheel on a separate relay carrier plate.

At least that's mentioned in my german MY05 manual:

Hi i know this is an old post but im having the same problem in my 2010 leon cupra. I have no interior lights at all! Checked the fuse and the fuse is fine! Any ideas? It went into seat other day for the xenon head light not working and had to have a new control unit for that but i cant imagine that had anything to do with it? Cheers in advance
