Hi Guys,

This might sound silly/dumb, but I'm deeply considering fitting XL roof rails to the standard version. Anyone maybe did or thought about that already ?. Don't want these sh**ty roof bars that go under the door seal.
Already have couple of ideas, but would be good to hear if someone tried it already.

Cheers,
Maciek

Here's my ride by the way :)

Hi Maciek,
I surely doubt, that those AlteaXL roof rails will fit to that noticeably shorter roof of the standard version.
It's not only the missing 18,7cm in overall lenght, but you have to consider, that the tailgate border extends some centimeters further into the roof compared to the XL's tailgate.
Hence, looking especially at those explosion drawings from Seat, those rails will be too long for the ALTEA (183cm total roof length) ...
Maybe check the rails' length with measure tape at the dealer's showroom next time ... or wait for some kind XL-owner posting the length of those rails.

Meanwhile you might want to have a look at some alternative? .... ;o)

(won't win the price for appealing design, but maybe you're into heavy duty tools  )

greets .... Klaus

Hi Klaus, thanks for the allegro link ;) ive seen it already;) rail lenght is not the issue. I would cut them anyways. So thats not a problem. + you can get the rails on allegro for about 25€ (seccond hand). I did sone reaserch since posting my question and i think ill go for it. 25€ is not such a big cost. So i think ill go for it ;) ill let you guys know when i come up with something worth showing ;)
