Congrats on your new car, mate, it looks very nice! How do you find the leather upholstery, do you like it? I have also ordered the leather interior without being able to see it in personal and was wondering if I should have ordered the alcantara instead. Is everything covered in natural leather such as the arm rest and the door panels or those are regular fake leather?

I'm really happy with it mate. I was the same as you in not really knowing but alcantara was not an option for me based on my experience with it. It's all covered in leather, I wouldn't put my mortgage in it being real but it looks and feels exactly the same as the seats.

I liked the alcantara seats in the demo car. However I've read alcantara wears quickly and makes you sweatier than leather. Glad to hear you like the leather.

These last two posts are a bit depressing! I've paid the extra £440 for Alcantara seats after seeing it on a Leon in the showroom and checking out the details of Alcantara on the automotive section of the official Alcantara website which gives it a very upmarket image, as apparently it is also an option on Maserati, Lamborghini, BMW, Porsche and Audi and it looked really brilliant in a Leon in the showroom and a huge improvement on the standard cloth trim and not nearly as oppressive as black leather (which I thought for some inexplicable reason also looks slightly out of keeping with the overall style, design and trim of the car). I plan to take care of the interior and am extremely unlikey to be carrying messy passengers! I chose not to pay extra for the protective paint and interior treatment. Does anyone else have first-hand negative or (hopefully) any positive feedback on Alcantara?

Sorry i didn't mean to sound that depressing mate, just been bitten before. It is functional on a lambo or m3 csl etc. but they get what 2 or 3 k a year?

Also I have the occasional worst type of passengers - kids!

I'm sure there is something you can do to it to stop it flattening and shining up.

I too have the Alacantra option and it looks great. Feels well fitted and I have no reason to suspect any issues. It just needs to be properly looked after.
