Anyone had this happen?

These corrugations have just appeared on my steering wheel. It's not ring damage, and seems to be rougher when the wheel has been in the sun for a while.

Can't say i have, but first thing i'd try is putting some form of leather cream/moisturiser on it from a detailing company to see if it makes it any nicer? (Assuming it's leather?)

Married? That looks like ring mark. My lady left me 2 of those recently :(

I have the exact same marks on the bottom of my steering wheel. Just assumed it was the previous owner with a ring or sharp nail that has caught it. Cant see it normally so doesn't bother me.

It's leather. If you threw away every leather chair or jacket that picked up a single mark it's going to get real expensive real fast.

I have a 1month old Leon and i have the same marks on the upper-right part of the wheel. I'm 100% sure i didn't damage it in any way - but i just thought it was a leather thing.

I have OCD, and POMS (picky old man syndrome)

Actually, I'm not overly worried now, it's just concern that it may get worse and/or split.

Mine looks like this. It's on the top-right part of the wheel like I already said so it's not somewhere you'd usually scratch it while exiting the car

My 280 has had loads over time and they all just fade back and go smooth. If you go looking for them you can see small marks but most of the time its like the aren't there.

However it is most definitely zips getting in and out of the car, not rings that do it in my situation. I try and make sure all zips are closed to avoid it now (queue all the jokes about flying low with out a license).
