The turbo technics hybrid turbo for the ARL engine is rated at236 bhp and off the record the technical guy that I talked to said it could be be pushed to 250 bhp. It's a gt1749 type.

vroomtshh is correct in that 99% of the hybrids on the market have wildly optimistic power figures, however a PD130 with a GTB1756VK can get to 230bhp pretty easily.

This is a customers with our Budget Kit:

The car is completely smoke free, not a wiff. This was one condition the customer gave when we did the tuning. If we got a little smoke, 230bhp would be in reach.

The car is here:

We will get this on our Dyno at some point (we did not have our DynoDynamics at the time) and get a video posted up as well.

Thanks

Scott

How much was his budget? Also did he have an updated clutch before it was all done, my plan is to uprate my clutch mid 2013 then come to you guys for the £1600 turbo, Mani, down pipe, fitting and stage 2 then injectors and another stage 2! Got to do boost pipes first though what would I realistically achieve with this?

Hi Josh,

I can't remember the full cost of the build but the car was completely standard engine / clutch wise when we started, so we needed to fit the Clutch etc before the Turbo mods. If you are looking for the Race PD Injectors eventually, you would be better off buying the Tubular manifold kit. It costs a bit more, but in the long run you can get to 270bhp without too much trouble. We did the budget kit for those looking for 230bhp and nothing more, to sort of bridge the gap!

Thanks
Scott

I think I'd be happy with 230 tbh, I've got 185 at the moment (should be 200 but sticky vnt) so I'm going to take the turbo off and clean, then look into the cast manifold kit you do for mid this year I think. Obviously it's going to run more boost, so what would you rcxonend before I go for hybrid? (Clutch is in the pipe work) boost pipes? 2.5" s/s system? Cheers Josh

Exhaust, Clutch and the Boost Pipes are always a good idea before going crazy. If you buy a kit from us, remember the Turbo Kits come with a Downpipe so you won't need those.
Thanks!

I went in a pd130 hybrid golf the other day, all he'd done is fmic and the hybrid, standard clutch etc.
He said it was a gt20 turbo or something, He took me out in his, and I took him out in mine, and we both came out saying his wasn't any quicker than mine.... I don't think his map is too good though to be honest, the only way I can describe the difference is that his was smoother.... probably slight clutch slip, and the noise it made. Was definately a different turbo to mine. What I'd be looking to do is anything I can do without putting the engine at risk. I don't know if you know that I'm the Josh who has been speaking to Scott about bora erf code boxes, braided oil feed lines and restricted banjo's?? Also a gearbox mount on facebook. I'd like to spend lots on it but I don't have the money at the moment, get a bonus next may though ;) few grand!

I'm running a VNT17 hybrid at the minute but I want more power too. Dyno'd at 205bhp but I don't know what to go for next for more power without it being stupid money :/

Will a GTB20 or 22 bolt straight on for me?
