Just picked car up this morning after getting spoiler fitted. Here are a few pics before and after.

I was unsure as to whether it was worth the cost but after seeing the end result I think it is.

Frankly, if I hadn't seen the side by side pictures I would hardly have noticed any difference and a non Leon owner certainly wouldn't.

Sorry, but that's just my opinion.

Yes the spoiler goes over the original hatch slightly.

The spoiler was bought from dealer with a bit of discount and fitted by the approved paint shop that the dealer uses. Brochure cost is £399. I paid £300.

No probs Fred. Each to their own. I like it. The spoiler on my last FR was more in your face.

Yes, I like it, but for the money, it's a bit understated - as you say, the last one was "in your face" which I think these mods need to be.

It's like the Cupra - lovely car - but many have commented that it doesn't look sufficiently different from the normal FR and I would agree with that.

If you want your car to stand out from the crowd, I think it needs something a bit more extreme. Something more obvious rather than just subtle.

I'm not normally a fan of sticking extra bits on to cars, but I think that looks excellent!

tempted to see how much the body shop want to fit one while they have the paint mixed to redo the bumper, but then £280 is a lot of money before paint.

I've got few things planned on mine when I get it so will be happy to show they are all done.:)

BTW, how do you change the text underneath the post - with the previous car details - can't amend it!!!

I think it looks good, would look even better in gloss black if you had mirrors and grill to match.

I wasn't a fan of the MK2 spoiler but i bought it because it looked alot better with it.

You're calipers look nice btw. I keep meaning to do mine as they and the hubs have some rust spots on already.

Why does it not go up to the shut lines?

Been out and looked at spoiler this morning. Think I know where you are coming from. It's as if spoiler needs to move further forward to front of car. But this is not possible because there is no gap and it is sitting on rear screen on both sides. I then thought is it the correct spoiler because there is a difference between 5 door and SC. When the hatch is half way open you can see the part number moulded underneath the spoiler. So I can confirm it is the correct spoiler for 5 door. Also when the hatch is opening if the spoiler was further forward there may be a possibility of the edge catching on the roof of the car.

I tried to check on internet of any close up shots of body kit Leon but couldn't see any close ups of spoiler. My conclusion is it must be fitted ok as it is a good fit all round the roof etc. This is the third spoiler the body shop has fitted this week to mark 3 Leon.

I was wondering about the fitment as well.

If you look at Tony_fin's post (via ma9mwah) here - http://seatcupra.net/forums/showpost.php?p=4365399&postcount=20 you can see that there's a teeny bit of original spoiler visible. Helps that in that pic the spoiler's not painted so it's obvious where spoiler finishes and car begins.

So it must be right, probably because as Sweetfr says, any further forward and it would snag on the body when you open the boot.

In some ways its a pity SEAT didn't make it as a replacement for the existing spoiler - i.e. remove the current one and fit this new nicer one. But on the other hand you've only got to look at the price of the front bumper to know what that would have meant ;)

From the pictures you can only really see it in the closeup shots, in all the other slightly-further-away shots it's nowhere near as obvious. Plus when driving past people you'll be moving quickly too :p

I'm pretty obsessive about things fitting properly, but the more I look at the far-away shots the more I think it looks quite nice :)

I'm getting this done to mine this week - dealer is doing it for free as they have messed me about so much.

What are peoples thoughts on the effect this mod will have on insurance premium?.
