Hiya guys.

I bought the 3 Audi TT pedals from Vag-Parts last week and having fitted the brake and clutch ones, I am stumped on the accelerator. The original rubber pedal is longer than the RHD TT pedal. How do I fit this?

As I'm not Neo from The Matrix and can't change the laws of physics, I'm finding it difficult to understand how it will fit just by trying to stretch it?

Reading pabs guide and from the few posts I searched here, the pedal needs to be glued to the original rubber one rather than replacing it altogether. However the one in pabs guide is a compete rectangle whereas mine has a notch on one corner.

Had the same problem when I came to fit mine. My solution was to cut a piece of steel to the right size, the put a bend in it to match the pedal. I then welded the plate over the old pedal and the fitted the rubber with no problems. ( just be careful not to set light to the carpets in the car! ):crash:

Sounds like a lot of effort for something that's supposedly retro fit.

How have the others' fitted theirs. Surely it must be a wrong part or something?

you got the left hand drive accelerator one
Just like I did.
Have to glue it over original plastic one with some really good glue. Can't remember the name but starts with a. Someone else may use different stuff

Seems strange if they sent a LHD version as that seems to be the bigger size:-

TT LHD acc. pedal rubber
TT LHD acc. pedal rubber. Size: 105mm x 47mm x 28mm

TT RHD acc. pedal rubber
RHD TT pedal rubber. Size: 98mm x 40mm x 25mm

I definetely ordered the RHD one. The pictures of it on vagparts site are different to what I have though in that the vagparts are a complete rectangle whereas the one I received has a slanted notch on one corner, like a sim card.

1 TT RHD acc. pedal rubber 8N2721647B 10.67 GBP 10.67 GBP 1.87 GBP (17.5%)

I will take a picture of it when I get a chance.

OK, all sorted. They sent me what I ordered. The plastic one I took off is exactly the same shape and even slightly smaller than the TT one, its just that it has longer clips to hook around the metal. So I peeled the rubber back before fitting and it went on fine. :). The LHD that is larger is probably even easier to fit.

Thanks for the advice. :)

so basically, is the LHD version likely to work even better? Afterall, it's cheaper at £8.26 too.
