no idea mate. mine came from the factory with the wrong wheel, i pushed and pushed and they replaced it. took about 2 hours with the coding.

I bought an excellence 2.0 Dsg which was never supposed to have one, and fitted one successfully. Note they changed slightly when the SatNav screen got bigger and a couple of the buttons swapped over, so look for a wheel that is either new or from a very recent crash at the breakers. Once this is in you need to code the steering wheel electronics to look for the paddles. I don't recall having to do anything else. Anyone with vcds or obd11 should be able to do this with ease. Unlike some other features it didn't (as far as MY2018 for certain) require SwAP codes which only the dealer can source.
Ok guys just wanted to provide and update. So I purchased a flappy paddle fr flat bottom steering wheel from eBay, it had the same MF buttons as my original excellence lux steering wheel. And I can confirm it was a straight forward swap paddles worked without coding. The only thing I had to do was to reset the engine management and airbag light. Hope this helps anyone who is thinking of doing the same it tick me approx 30 mins in total to complete and reset error codes using vagcom this was a 19 plate excellence lux 190 dsg st
