Badgerwagen is in kit form currently... 1000's of bits.
stripped bare internally, devoid of all factory wiring, dash, heater, AC evaporator etc etc etc...

30kg of wiring alone has come out of it. amazed at the qty of wiring sat behind everything.. complete 'mare to remove. Going to be a lot of hours rewiring just essential stuff again. DTA S60 ecu, possible DTA LCD dash also if funds allow.

Some pics of the prgress to date:
the dirt in the pics is grinding dust from cutting out its old cage platforms, in readyness for its trip to Custom Cages for a full on works weld in cage.

don't forget to trailer it backwards on the way to daventry unless you want the rear window blown out.

good effort though :) a lick of paint inside once the cage is fitted will make it feel all new

yea, had considered that.... was going to hardboard something, but backwards is an option if I can get the trailer c of g right.

might see if I can swing by Brian James too for that free 1st service they offered me.. and fix the shitty lights on the trailer..

    i think its a light!?

i like what you have done with the gear mech.

is it the standard one just top mounted?

yea its just a lead lamp.. Draper.

Gear mech is std, just sat up top. Legacy of previously running my sequential SQS shifter which needs to be up top, and cables routed inside the car not below as std. Just runs on a B&M shifter now. Was tempted with motorsport shifter but its very close on the gate which is tempting disaster for me... would probably grab the wrong gear, and the box would happily engage it (SQSracing dog box in there now)

Some seriously heavy wiring in there tho... did'nt imagine it would be 'that' heavy.

That's some effort Bill.. wanna sort my wiring out!? ;)

30Kg's.. I would imagine alot of that is the wrapping they put around all of the wires?

good effort - theres only about a dozen wires in mine now that lead back from the dash, cut the lot out last year, like you said, lots of weight

    fuel pumps / level sender
    rear lights
    battery
    handbrake switch
    leccy windows

have seen motorsport looms advertised, mega buck no doubt, or perhaps a universal one like is used on kit cars may be a useful starting place.....or lots of time spent cutting out the spare wires / unwinding that super sticky fabric loom tape (grr)

very good place I found for wiring - vehicle wiring products in derbyshire, have a little catologue thats real useful, tel 0115 9305454

Car Builder solutions have a kitcar fusebox all made up - £89 - "DIY wiring doesn't get any simpler than this" they claim

Car Builder Solutions... sounds interesting. http://www.nfauto.co.uk/download/cataloguejuly2005.pdf

was looking at 16 fuse circuit from Pop Browns also.

Got the lighting, starting wiring to build as well as the S60 wiring and GDash to do. I know from other looms I have made, it absorbs 100's hours doing a proper job.

I'll use one of the generic kit car looms to get the thing to crank and light up etc,.. still want it road registered with full working lights etc
