Baud Rate

Got VAG COM (finally) - full version - got a serial cable as i thought my sisters laptop had a serial port, turns out she doesnt have a serial port so had to buy a convertor thingy -

anyway

trying to get connection but keep getting some Baud Rate error when clicking on engine - When i do other checks on ABS and Radio i get a connection and can check for fault codes -

any ideas?

What interface are you using? 3rd party?

well i was using VAG COM 3112 which is for a serial cable - someone else used the same software and cable and it worked on mine - the only thing is, i had to use a serial to USB convertor and after reading up on it - isnt the best way to go around it -

i got versions off ross tech 4091 for both serial and USB - and will try different baud rates (9600, 4800 and 1200) if the standard one fails -

The USB<>RS232 adapter is your problem.
