Hi All,

Other halves Leon went into Limp mode, gave code P0299, Turbo Underboost.

Had a garage look at it and they’ve said Turbo has Seized. Damm car only has 56k Miles and bought second hand just 18 months ago from Seat Main Dealer, still has another free service left to have done too.

Anyway not a clue on the best way forward, do I get a secondhand one of EBay or breakers, or go to a Turbo specialist for one such as Essex Turbos in Witham? Been told it’s a 5 or 6 hour job to change it. I’m not able to do it myself.

She loves the car and it is a good one (apart from this damm issue)

Any help,appreciated.

As this is the missus car, I'm assuming (sexistly) that it's not mapped/modified and you're keeping stock. If you're not after anything special, I'm not sure a turbo specialist is necessary. Didn't the garage you went to give you a quote? I'm sorry I'm not more help, but all I can do is recommend a really good garage in Chelmsford, the guy is really honest and fair, so if you just want the turbo replaced without anything fancy go to Andy Kober of Kober Motors in Broomfield. I've been going to him for years with my old MK2 tractor, he also used to be a client of my accountancy firm so I know he's above board. Anyway, I'm sure others can give you advice on the turbo, but I know it can be hard to find a trustworthy garage (took me years and lots of money).

Ok well may get another opinion but the chaps at Diesco in Ipswich did seem to know their stuff, proper old school diesel specialist.

Thanks
