Bi-Xenon

Hi all,

Was driving home last night and got bong come on the car and a warning on the dash about a light gone on the dash.

Got out and looked at the Xenon's and the drivers side has gone, the car is only 8 months old. Has anyone had issues with the lights at all?

Does anyone know if the dealers will keep these in stock?

It can happen, and would guess will be fairly expensive, my guess would be around £100, weird that its gone in such little time

Guess it's one of those things, I was worried about the lights when i read about turning them on and off alot, but with the auto lights they are on and off alot so guess that could have caused it.

They do seem to come on and off a lot through short tunnels and carparks etc.

I could always turn it off auto but if you have the option they should work ok?

Yes I have noticed that, it only takes one surge of power to blow it I guess

I guess so, i guess they aren't under warrenty either.

Speak to the dealer... I had one of mine go after about 6 months, it was changed under warrenty...

The dealer checked with Seat who stated that Xenon bulbs are "lifetime" warranty, unlike standard bulbs.

I was under the impression the Xeon's are lifetime warranty too

I have just got back in the car and it's started working again... it hasn't worked all weekend. How strange!

Dodgy ballast I reckon, keep an eye on it, the ballast should deffo be covered under the warranty.

The ballast is basically a switched mode high voltage power supply. This would be covered I would have thought. The bulbs on the other hand may not be, even though they are not really a bulb in the technical sense.

Yes I dont doubt the ballast would be covered, but I wouldnt think the bulb would be
