I'm currently trying out a setup I've sourced myself.
Can't post up any pictures as I'm yet to make 15 posts but trial and error I reckon about £30 inc postage.
I'm currently running two 300nm struts and they hold the bonnet fine but don't lift it. I'll be ordering 400nm which will be spot on I reckon. I Just didn't fancy paying £80 for a kit when it can be sourced cheaper.

Exactly my thoughts, no offence.

£80? The kits from Russia are £33 plus £18 P&P

Sounds like you need a stronger force. I think this is related to the diameter of the piston, ie 6mm or 8mm not the overall length.

See here

I have recently bought some from a scrap Omega to fit to my Calibra bonnet, pretty beefy 8mm piston with 10mm ball fixings and M8 bolts.
But it is needed because they are very heavy bonnets.

I have recently done this mod. I bought 2 gas struts from bestpartstore.co.uk
Part no: 140794 Stabilus lift o mat.
240nm eject force (lifts bonnet perfectly)
length is 602.5mm
stroke is 241.5mm
Also need 4 x 10mm steel ball stud bolts M6 which I bought from eBay.

I bought a couple of Steel brackets from eBay and fitting it all took 20 minutes.

You will need to trim the foam inserts on each side of the bonnet bracket which was easy enough with a scalpel blade so your bonnet will sit flush when shut.

Hope this helps

Spot on thank you!!!

The alternative Febi ones from the same place are a tad cheaper at the moment too.

Do you have any photos?

Puts me off when postage is more than half the cost of the parts.

How many people do you need then?
Did you get anywhere with this bud I'm wanting a pair but for as cheap as possible.

Hi. Haven't got round to it yet and might change car come May.

I was going to go the route of ADM, no response from AndreyBear.
