Brake Fluid

I am not happy with the brakes on my Cupra PD160, they look huge but don't feel huge when used in anger. I have been told that replacing the Dot 4 with Dot 5.1 will improve the situation, but does that not just dissipate the heat quicker, or does it actually make the brakes feel better ? I changed to Dot 5.1 in my bike, but that was at the same time as upgrading to steel braided hoses, so I can't even answer my own question.

As far as I understand, the only advantage would be higher boiling point - so unless your brakes are fading due to fluid boiling then I doubt that'll make much difference.

Perhaps some better pads/discs are the answer.
