Just had mot and major service on my 16 plate leon 1.2tsi. They've advised its nearly time to have the front pads and discs replaced. Anyone know what make the factory fitted ones as as they've lasted 4 years i was thinking of replacing like for like.

Cheers

Don't know who makes the originals someone once told me febi but I have no clue. I used brembo on mine from euro car parts when they had 60% off. Really good and no better or worse than original.

The original ones are good. They last for ages, feel ok and aren't too dusty. I just bought them from a VW/Audi parts supplier and the pads felt the same as the original ones.

A lot of the VAG brake components are made by Ate or TRW - the calliper will have the brand stamped into it, potentially with different OEMs front and rear.

Give TPS (owned by VAG) a call as they will most likely have ‘original’ and ‘economy’ options. The economy options will still be to VAG standards, potentially just previous modification states.
