Would the 312mm discs fit my car from the mk5 Golf? needing a set soon and havnt a large budget for big brakes, so a std larger setup do for now! what would i need if anything to ocnvert? carriers, brackets?

Why don't you look at the brakes from the Altea FR as they should fit as both cars are basicly the same

I had thought about that. Do i need carriers though, no chancee that original calipers would go over the bigger discs?

I would of thought you would need carriers, you need to get the part numbers off a same year FR and compare them to the Tolly parts, it is a mod I have been thinking about, however with my recent issue with the main ABS / TCS control unit it will have to wait until out of warrenty

What happened with the ABS/TCS? Figure brakes are out of waaranty anyway, pads and discs definatly but adding a carrier wont make a difference. Will ask about at a VAG specialist and see if they can sort me out! Anyone got Altea FR part numbers then?
