Morning !

Just wanted to ask for a little help if possible please
The issue that is being experienced is that the breaks seems to be airy so you need to press them almost half way down to actually feel them working but they still feel very airy sort of like a trampoline kind of thing and often still felt that until I pushed them all the way down.

Seat said they changed the master cylinder but still feels the same. And they are insisting that the breaks are fine and it’s the ABS working.

Can you please shed some advise one this as this is dangerous to drive in this condition ?

Thanks in advance guys :)

How hard are you braking for this to happen ? - are we talking emergency stop hard or just normal driving around type braking ?

Hi DEAN0, it's normal driving around type braking

Long travel before the brakes work could be rear discs/drums out of adjustment.

When the pedal goes firm - does it stay at the same level or drop ?

Are the brakes sharp when the pedal starts to work or does it need a lot of pressure ?

When the pedal goes firm it stays firm however it needs alot of pressure/foot pressing in order for them to work and brake

That sounds like the vacuum hose has a split in it or the seal is leaking.

have a look in the engine bay - there is a hose about 12mm ( 1/2") diameter that leads from the master cylinder servo - across to the inlet manifold on a petrol car - or across to the vacuum generator on a diesel.

it needs inspecting closely for any splits or damaged seals.
