What Seat need to do is to sign a driver who can properly support JP, Fernando Alonso springs to mind :D

We need to forget Sunday I rekon. Any hopes of being able to crack Quantum physics aren't gonna happen anytime soon. Till then, and I know it is an overused cliche, I rekon we need to just move on.

And what better way than to consider a new driver to bring real good times to the team. The last 4 years have been good in maybe one or two ways. But nothing seriously positive.

What about Rikard Rydell??? Does anyone know where he wants his direction to point? I would love to think it is a possible return to the BTCC. He has a lot that I look to and think "it fits". Like Menu he knows the BTCC and is a former champion, something Coronel didn't bring, he raced for SEAT last year, and as far as I know he hasn't been offered a seat or even so much as a test anywhere.

What do you guys think?:)

Well just got back after a fantastic weekend.

Congratulations to Gio for an excellent season, him and Jason have kept us entertained whilst the likes of Neal have left themselves down.

Words cannot express how proud we all were of Jason and his efforts this season, and to to even compete on Sunday was a testament of his passion for the sport. If Jason wasnt to win, then im glad it was Gio.

But like its been said, the season is over , whats happened has happened and all we can look forward to is next year.

A very big thankyou to all at Seat Sport who have made this season a memorable one, its easy to forget about all the hard work that goes into a season, even the simplest things like infield parking etc for us, all goes towards making it very worthwhile.

Another big thankyou to Mark and Mark, Saul and everyone else who put the effort in, it really is appreciated.

Anyway, keep an eye out for the pictures and videos of the camping exploits.......

another good day's racing... even if Plates didn't manage to pull off the Championship win we were hoping for!

i did spot the SCN contingent staked out on top of the hill next to the complex... but failed to make myself known as i was still smarting from a blowout on the Ibiza on Saturday, hence travelling incognito :(

btw - anyone here own the yellow Mk2 Leon with the stonking bodykit which cruised out of the back field car park ahead of me at about 6pm (just as the Ginetta's started off)??? It looked a corker and has made me seriously turn my eye to a new Leon over a late Cupra R!! 8)

well, i have a lot of respect for JP. STill racing, even with the injuries so in that sense i think he is a winner. Seat sport need to get the TDi's in the BTCC now.

I also think Gio did well and won the championship as a great sports man. SO glad I went to Thruxton this weekend.

Cant wait till next season now!!!

I dont know if it was the same car, but a yellow FR with a full body kit inc skirts was parked 4/5 cars up from me near the front of the higher car park. The guy came down from Glasgow and has followed the BTCC all year. Nice guy. 22k on his front tryes though. Dont think he is using all of that 170bhp. Did every one get caught up in the mess getting out. Nearly two hours to get to the main road [:@][:@] . Great day and will do it again.

yeah, sounds like the right motor... so, excusing my ignorance is the bodykit factory fit or aftermarket?

as for the queues and junk... i did well there as only live in Southampton and know the local lanes reasonably well after 10 odd years of Thruxton attendance, so i was home in 40mins ;)

Hi Everyone

Firstly…..thank you all for your fantastic support this year, I know I say this every year, but we really do appreciate it :worship:. And thank you on behalf of JP for your good wishes following his accident.

I’m with ZBOYD on one thing……don’t waste your energy posting about what Matt did. We knew Matt had signed for Vauxhall some time ago and that we would be racing against four cars on Sunday….what he did was no surprise to us! Cheating…definitely not. Unsportsmanlike…maybe, but hey that’s sport! Let’s concentrate on celebrating and enjoying what SEAT Sport has achieved this year against the might of Vauxhall!

2007 has without doubt been the best year in the short history of SEAT Sport UK and that’s a credit to all of the guys and girls within the team. Their dedication and passion is inspiring and they should be proud of their achievements this year…..I most certainly am.

And congrats to Fabrizio…..he’s a worthy champion!

Let’s look forward to 2008 and kicking some arse! (ZBOYD – is it OK to say arse on your forum? ;)).

Cheers guys!

Scott

If it's not in the swear filter your alright :cartman: As you say no point wasting energy on the subject, I want to keep it positive and focused on SEAT's achievements this year.

Thanks for dropping by Scott, and thanks for an entertaining season. Fantastic effort this year, the team did a great job.

Hope Jaime is sorting you out with some more power next year ;)

Firstly congratulations to Seat for winning the teams championship, it makes me proud to drive around with a big S on the front of my car.:seatgod:
Comiserations to Jason on just missing out on the drivers championship, at the end of the day the Vauxhall had the edge on the straight and the only hope was for the Vauxhalls tyres to give up, but Gio was a worthy winner and when Seat sort out the power issues i am sure we will give any car a run for its money.
I look forward to watching some close and exciting racing next year.

Thoroughly enjoyable day:)

Shame it was tainted by the antics of Neal but in all honestly Giovarnadi is more than worthy champion.

So near yet so far.... one cannot help feel that this years assualt has been hampered by the lack of development from Spain after the go broke attitude in 2006 in the WTCC..., but on the positive side its very encouraging to see the TDI's doing well

Next year chaps....:)

Don't want this to sound like a love in Scott, but as you know the SCN crew really appreciate the efforts that SEAT Sport make to get us involved. designated parking and occasional treats have really added to everyone's fun this year and it's been a classic season's racing.

Great for the brand looking at the sales figures, and good news for BTCC so congratulations to all involved. Thrilled to hear that JP will give it another go.
Here's to some serious arse kicking in 2008. :flag:

Ohh..Mr Dennis....I was going to tell you that you have PM from me on btcc.net but if your around here often I will tell you here what I said - though constructed differently.

Can I offer my sincerest of commiserations for missing out on another Drivers title and for losing the Manufacturers title. Though I congratulate you on our maiden Teams tyophy.

But can I paise to the hilt the work this season by all the guys in the team? Piers and Nick for preparing Leons that founght well against the Vectras and technicians like Andrew Pyle and Ashley Blenkhorn for doing whatever technicians to, and to do th best of their abilities. But I would like to praise the 6 men most imprtant in the team. NorthernSouth themselves (Ian and Grant), Manager Jon Haynes for taling over from Doub through the season so well, and of course you for leading us to another season where we can take positives despite the few rewards. But let us not forget everyone else who played their part. Like all the trukies for getting the team around the circuits unscathed.

Well done and here's to hopes that 2008 can emmulate what VXR have done for so long in the way they did it.
