Take the figures on Howmanyleft with a pinch of salt. I was on another forum where a guy who worked for the DVLA checked the number of certain models on their system against what people were reporting from Howmanyleft and the figures were well off.

There's a fair few 290s registered as 280 too from the data I've seen.

I placed an order for one on back end of last week and have been given December as a delivery time...this was for a 5dr Cupra Black DSG with some factory options.

December seems quite a while for a July order, was that direct with a dealer or through a lease company?

I ordered mine direct with a Seat garage fleet service; I am hoping to hear back this week and maybe will be given some better news. I am in no rush as I still have my current car but if I was, then I wouldn't be too impressed!

When I ordered a 290 SC I was quoted 27 weeks but 15 weeks for a BE. Ordered a month ago and got build week 38.

Got to sell my car now. S2000 anyone?

I ordered a 290 SC Black Edition on 23rd July and just been informed of a build slot for week 40, expected delivery for end of October/early November.

I'll swap my build week 39 slot for for anyone with one scheduled for build/delivery in December if they want. I'm in no great rush for the car. (that's a joke by the way. But if it was at all possible then i'd do it

I wonder if the VW supply issues that are currently affecting the Golf will affect production of the Cupra. It seems to be a dispute with suppliers of parts for seats and gearboxes has caused production to cease this week.

I went to a dealer mate and had nothing, all my information has come directly from Seat CS, you just need the order number

I was originally estimated an 8-12 week delivery time when I placed my order on 23rd July which would be end of September/early October (290 SC Black Edition).

Dealer told me a few days ago of a delay (did not specify) and the build slot is now week 40. The dealer has now said it will be another 6 weeks after that until delivery. That puts it in mid November.

A bit disappointed. Anyone else experiencing this?

Had no week number or date yet from my dealer and I ordered in first week of August..... Though I'm not rushing..... Checked in with him last week and he mentioned the shutdown for a fortnight (or whatever it was) was delaying things...... I'll check back when I have a build week.

I placed a order for a 290 ST black edition manual from lookers seat in Manchester but due to the factory holidays I won't get a estimated build till their back , not looking too hopeful for the end of October by everyone else's build slots . Can't wait to get it too see how it stacks up against the S3 saloon we sold last year

How does it take 6 weeks from build to the dealer?! That's crazy

I spoke to the dealer again today. Apparently 6 weeks is worst case scenario, so hopefully it won't take that long.

I was thinking about 2 weeks would be acceptable.

My cupra is build week 39 - I put a deposit down on one that my dealer had already ordered since it was the spec I wanted. Was hoping for a mid October delivery.

Compound, transport to dock, await shipping, day or 2 on the boat, dock/customers clearance at UK, transport to dealer, dealer PDI. All that can easily take 6 weeks and 3 weeks at the very, very least I would think.

If you are distance buying you'll also find the dealers will do the 2 week cooling off period before they deliver the car. It seems a bit sneaky to me but I've always found that cars take at least 2 weeks after signing and returning the final paperwork. As I'm in no rush I plan on making that work for me this time. "Oh, I never received the paperwork".... "Did that not arrive, bugger! It must have got lost in the post, I'll send it again"
