Hi guys,

Get my 1st year no claims on the Ibiza in jan, knew it was wishful thinking but rang direct line just to get them to have a look at prices for a 8v + 16v, 1.8 + 2.0.

Turns out they wont let me on any variant until im 21.

gutted

confused.com usually just spews out ridiculous quotes but one for £1350 (starting after 1 years NCB) actually seems alright now after my current insurers have just completely refused for 18 months...

Im 19, 20 in may, and have only had insurance in my name since jan '07.

Just need to know: where the Cupra owners get their insurance and how much their paying and what your insurace status is (age when started, NCB etc).

Any info would be great! cheers. Tom.

elephant insured me at 20 with the 8v Gti, something like 1 or 2 years NCB and 2 previous accidents, was paying around £1300 3rd party F&T on a 10 month policy.. then i got the 16v the year after for around 800-900 again 3rd party.. so it is coming down slowly lol

Got my 8v as my 21st present and paid £590 Fully Comp with churchill with 3 years NCB

Got the valver now at 23 with 5 years no claims and its £390 Fully comp with my 21 year old girlfriend on the policy with direct line and NCB protected :D.

Insurance will very rarely insure a group 13+ car for anyone under 21, which the 16v's fall into.

My advice would be to wait until you've got some more NCB under your belt, or look for something a little faster than your 1.4 and more insurance friendly such as a MK3 1.6 sport or 1.9 110 sport.

I call £1350 to insure a GTi 8 or 16v rediculous!

wots tht mean?? ^^

if you live in a city , your insurance would (most likely) be dearer .. if you live in or near a 'high crime risk area' your premium will include this.. so basically if you had two 25 yr olds one in inner city and one out in 'burbs/sticks .. both with same car /year /engine etc etc etc etc.. chances are , the lad in the sticks would pay less on his insurance

:)

Hi, i have 2.0 16v ibiza, i also have 5yrs NCB which helps but my first quote i got was for over a grand 3rd party fire and theft?! :wtf:
But in the end i used adrian fluxx who gave me fully comp, free breakdown recovery, NCB protection, free courtesy car etc for 600 odd a year (will go down next year as 25) they specialise in insuring modified cars, worth a try, if not hastings direct are quite good so i'm told.
Good Luck! :D

its weird tht coz my mate had problems with his insurance, he moved from the scruffy estate (which was in partnership with beirut or summit) on our town to my area which is rather peaceful, everyone keeps themselves to themselves and theres never any crime as such......yet the new house (my area) is higher risk of crime so his insurance went up lol
