ive spoked to a specialist earlier,he said 4 years would be the absolute maximum as they deteriorate,
he has quoted me £260 all in to replace the belt, tensioning roller, water pump and coolant,
seems fair so i might just get it done and out the way

get it done as if it snaps/slips/fails you could be looking at a bigger bill than £200 - £300,
im talking rebuild or engine transplant

Yeah thats what i am concerned about, dont know if you'd know the answer to this but do the seat dealers usually give warranty on the cambelt fitted? as for example, if i get it changed, and 20k later something goes wrong with this one?

if you order the parts from david t sere motors they come with a 2 year warranty no mater who fits them, as that is what i did with mine lucky for me one of my tenants does a lot of vw warranty work so it is the same as taking to the dealers, jct600 leeds quoted me £350 to do the cambelt and needed the car for 24 hours what a set of :censored:

At the end of the day cam belts are Rubber and even if you dont do the mileage, rubber will still perish over time.

My specialist says, you can change the cambelt or you can risk having 20 bent valves, I know whats cheaper.:)
