Hello all.. need help asap.

Well was working on the car with the bonnet up sat my tools and the keys on the top if the air filter and then the bonnet got shut... thus locking the car and making me feel like a complete t*t

anyways went to the seat garage ordered a new key .. dont fit

any ideas on how to get into the car to open the bonnet?

last resort is panning a window with a brick

i lost my keys the other day at work not got a spare lost them for 2 days.then lucky for me a lady handed them in to my boss.

if ya goin to smash your window cover it in maskin tape stop glass goin every were.

well ive never looked on my ibiza but try and find the bonnet release cable if u can get to it by cuttin out the front grill or somthing u may be able to cut the outer cable and tug on the inner thus releasing the bonnet....

i might be wrong and it may not run anywhere easily enough to get to it but it worked on my old shitron and a grill has gota be cheaper than a window.....

Call out the RAC or AA and they will 'break into' it no sweat. No damage and then you can release the bonnet.

don't think the bonnet gets locked with the central locking, you tried getting a mate and alternately pressing down the suspension (ie shaking the car) you could probably jack up the car, take off the plastic engine defender and find the release on the near side of the engine bay.

Have you seen the AA do this? I would'nt let them do it on my car.......

Bonnet does not get lock the same way as the doors. Non of that would work ^^^^^^.

I would do the masking tape over the window then smash it (but call autoglass first).

Right guys, had a look and i think the best solution is to prise open the wee rear window and then try and hook the passenger door release with a pole or something. Failing that im gonna try cutting the bonnet cable where it comes out of the bulkhead and pulling on the internal cable.

OP is my wee bro btw!

ok dont go smashing any windows, u need to jack the car up enough to get under it and then look up for the release cable at the bonnet catch and grab it with some vice grips and pull it and it will release, was told by my brother whos an ex seat mechanic

dont cut it - if you can get a hand to it - pull some tension on it anyway with a bit of luck and a good tug you should manage to get enough movement to release it

looks like RHD is running 2 piece down the OS wing #11+13

at worst i'd suggest breaking the grille centre to get at the catch if access any good

time you found that spare key then?!

the spare key was lost aes ago

BUT we were having a go at it tonight with some 6mm cable through the window seal to realse the door handle but it wont open with the handle

so gav came up with a cunning plan to drill the screw out the rear onside window .. which worked.. then able to crawl in and open the bonnet .. hey presto, although the screws f*cked :funk: dont think it would be much from the scrappies.. knowing are luck it will be rare to get hold of !!

anyways cheers for the help

Sorry that sounded harsh, best get yourself a spare sharpish now thou! At least it sot you nothing, I have shut the keys under the bonnet before but not with the car locked already, doesn't your alarm go off if the car is locked with the bonnet up?

Right troops,
I have now found out that the Germans are very good at securing cars. AFter spending hours trying to lassoo the door pull handle, and eventaully getting it.................i found out it DOES not work with the alarm on!

Managed to drill out the stud and slide in (not easy) (not easy AT ALL!)

Noticed on the Cupra i dont have the rear windows that open, so maybe Seat figured this security flaw out and rectified it?

Anyway, if anyone else gets locked out, i will help in exchange for the phone number of a good chiropractor!
