changing rear number plate lights, tutorial needed

Small screwdriver in the left hand side of the cover, and prise it out like this:





then you can get the bulb out, remember when fitting them that if you are putting LED`s in they only work one way! :)

I found this way better than removing the whole light holder... less chance of scratching your paint.

No worries!
One more thing... when you put the clear covers back on, push up firmly on the left side until you hear the click, or it may fall off at some point!

Weirdly good timed thread, one of my bulbs went today. Was interested in putting white LEDs in. Any advice on which ones would be great so that they look OEM and won't get pulled over all of the time....

As long as they're white or standard you wont get pulled, BMW's come with LED number plate lights as standard.

Just get some 41mm festoon with 6 or 8 LED's win them.

Just remembered Iv heard of people doing this, its when they have no stock and so they dont have to cancel the auction I think (if its one that runs all the time) so they put the price up hoping no one buys it
