Changing the sidelight bulbs on a SEAT Leon Mk1.How?

Hi all,

I know this may sound like a stupid question but how do you take out the sidelight bulb holder from the headlight? This is what I have done so far:

1. Opened the bonnet and unscrewed the back covers first
2. removed the headlight back covers by moving the metal clips to the side
3. I can locate the sidelight bulb holder but I cannot get it out.

Do you twist it around until it comes out or do you just pull it out with a lot of force?

I've been fiddling with this issue for an hour! Also the space to work in is really tight but I can manage to get my hands in.

Any help is much appreciated.

I found they needed a good pull to get out.

My hand was to big to get the one on the left so had to grip it with a pliers

Al20v: thanks for the advice. I just had a second go and used pliers this time. after some twisting and pulling out, i managed to get the holder out but the bloody bulb fell into the headlight! oh well fat chance of getting that out!

Ok, not to panic do you have a strong vacum .....

Mine were a sod to get out,i used a small flat head in the end to release the clips on the holder
As for bulb in the headlamp if yiu take headlamp & main beam bulb out you should be able to retrieve it with a hoover

al20v, Brettyboy: Thanks for your comments. I drove last night to get some takeaway and when I came back I looked into the headlight to see if the loose bulb was still there.

Right the mysterious thing is that the bulb has disappeared!

Anyhow, I'm very curious about the vaccum technique. The headlight in question here is the passengers side where the battery is. How on earth do you get a vaccum pipe to the rear of the headlight? I have a Dyson! lol I guess you will have to use a really small vaccum and even then there are serious space constraints!
