If you have a 02m 6sp gearbox its fine (golf4, leon mk1)
ibiza 6sp is an 08a and must use this oe part number G052 171 A2 or Fuchs TITAN SINTOFLUID FE SAE
75W
For the 08a gearbox the fluid spec has been changed many times due to premature bearing faliure early in life (mine did this at 36k) and this is the latest and best spec.

It's ok to be fair - certainly better than stock that's for sure. Are you looking at recomendations for the right gearbox (see above), if so do you have any links...

Got round to changing mine with the help of a mate today, had the same horrible black water come out of mine after just 46000 miles. Gear changes feel a bit smoother with the new fluid in.

I just replaced mine. Popped 2.5 litres in it before it overflowed.

Changed mine 2 days ago, helped some, but the rest is in the slack in the shifter bushings

Done 63XXX KM! and my fluid was not very discoloured

Changed my box oil to the above, on a 2009 FR petrol stage one 40k miles, and was a marked improvement in gear selection/smoothness. The oil that came out was as other post's, horrible colour, looking very used.

Mines a fr tdi and I'm 99% certain the drain and fill plugs are in the same location as the petrol versions

Just to confirm guys-

I changed the gearbox oil on my 2007 mk2 seat Leon Fr Tdi this morning

The drain and fill plugs on my Fr Tdi box were in the exact same place as the petrol 2.0 Tfsi box as shown on the pics on the 1st page.

Probably the 1st gearbox oil change (cars now on 83.000)..... The colour of the stuff that came out was horrid.
