Hi Guys,

As some of you may know, recently picked up a LCR (Still cant believe the deal i got!!!!!!) and i have noticed a light ticking noise from the engine, that can be heard in the car when stationary. It comes, and at times goes, and can be described as a light ticking noise.

Spoke to Seat Watford this morning, and the chap said could be the charcoal filter as this is normal???? Supposed to take it in the morning for a quick look under the bonnet, but wanted an opinion from you guys??

The car has only covered 7,000 miles so any advice you may have is greatly appreciated!!

its the charcoal filter you mention mate dont worry it's normal, open bonnet and look in the engine bay you should be able to trace the noise to a black plastic box thing (dont know the techie name for it) its by the engine to one side hope this helps. :D

It's the bit pointed at below then it should tick. It's an emissiosn control bit. I think it takes the fumes from the petrol tank and flushes it back into the engine instead of venting them to atomsphere.

The pic is of a cupra not an R but it's the same on all petrol leons.

Thanks for clearing this up guys.

I've only had my 54 Leon Cupra for 4weeks and I only noticed the ticking the other day and was gonna take the car back to the dealer, which is over 30miles away, but now you've saved me the petrol and time.

Just like to say that the best thing I ever did was buying a Leon Cupra, It's amazin. :)
