Hi folks, my Leon is 20 months old and has done 22k miles. I've now got a mysterious clunking noise coming from the rear of the car and I only hear it when travelling at low speed up to circa 40mph
The car is due to go back to the leasing company late August - Do you think it's ok to keep on driving?

Sounds like it might be coming from the suspension or maybe the boot lock area?

Can anyone shed any light?

Ta!

Ahaha, sorry had to post and laugh in equal measure, had same problem, turns out to be the 5 litre screen wash I just bought and forgot about in the boot.

When its cold (below 10 degrees) I also get some suspension (I think) creak when it goes over a 'sleeping policeman' partial speed hump. And that was when the car was only 1 month old. Now it's warmer, the creak has gone away. My car is also a leased car.

Maybe something got dislodged in the 'wheel repair' kit under the boot?

I had a noise that sounded like it was coming from the rear-right suspension in my ST. I even had the garage investigate during the 12 month inspection service but they couldn't find the source.

In the last few weeks it became worse and I eventually isolated it to the rear seat latch mechanism. I confirmed this by running the car with the rear seats lowered for a couple of days.

2 days ago I found a thread describing the same problem with Golfs and applied the solution described here:

Haven't heard the noise since!
