okay now i know that the south bend clutch can be ordered to fit either solid flywheel or stock dualmass flywheel, it just have to specified when it are ordered.

i think i will be getting a new stock dual mass flywheel, so i dont need a flywheel with the clutch.

found a nice price for the flywheel LUK Dual Mass Flywheel from euro car parts and they have a real nice promo code with 15/25% off the price.

but i cant decide whether it should be a stage 2 daily or a stage 3 daily clutch.
i think at the end i will max be ending with around 450-475nm (330-350lbs/ft) so i think the stage 2 will be fine, but im nut sure if should get the stage 3, just so the clutch is not on the edge of what it can cope with and to be sure it will last. as you know: do it right the first time.

can i get your opinion or advice on this?

Do they have a Stage 2 Endurance ??????

I would say go for the stage 3 as if you do go for a hybrid they can give out big torque spikes
As you said best to play it safe and be rated over what it can produce

yes i think that the option for me then.

I have a southbend smf which is 14lb (5lb less than the standard dmf) and ther is no noise. If i dip my cluch a few times and listen hard then i can hear it, but other than that i cant notice amy noise

okay nice, i have never read about any one with the 6speed gearbox with a solid/single mass flywheel that dont have some kind of chatter/noise from the gearbox.
you most be lucky mate. you sure its a SMF? or so you have other mods to get the chatter away?
i read that some have more or less chatter but all i have read about no one had zero chatter/noise, now that is what im looking for.
most of the 5speed cars dont get much chatter.

Do they have a Stage 2 Endurance ??????

yes, on some web pages i see you can get stage 2 and stage 3 as either daily, endurance or drag.

I would think the endurance one would be the choice to go with about the same clutch resistance and higher TQ and HP longer life as well

typically any ways would have to see the rating differences to justify the cost.

Personally I would avoid SB clutches, I had one replaced under warranty and I had to replace nearly everything on the clutch system to satisfy SB, I did new lines, NLS shims, new master and slave and only then did they replace the kit, 7k miles later it went again so I cannot recommend them at all.. currently its not worth the price of the scrap metal.

Ps, I wasn't doing crazy launches or anything, the OFE stage 2 I had was rated to 450lb, at the time car was doing about 330lb/ft, go figure.

Just check out vwvortex for SB problems, they run through slave cylinders on the 02m like there going out of fashion.

My turbo is rated for 620 HP

Running a South Bend DXD Stage 2 endurance / Single lite steel flywheel has been in my car and

this car is my Daily Driver for 4 + years now not one problem

any clutch by any mfg. (or any part for that matter) has a certain % of going bad it is what the

Company does for you when that happens... The gentleman that is on here I may have even sold

that SB to him strange case but believe SB/Me did a good job trying to do the right thing as I sell

other clutch lines as well and know none of the other ones would have done what SB did and

that is why I push SB ..........

Clutchmaster / Spec.........

Yes you did sell me the clutch through here!

SB did replace the clutch but only after blaming everything else, and now the second one lasted 7k, everybody knows the SB problems, just trying to save these guys from having their cars off the road for endless weeks.

The forums speak for themselves., Check vwvortex and the likes for a good picture, SB even recommend a 3rd party fix sometimes by way of the NLS shim, speaks volumes really.

In addition, you guys should buy local if possible, the hassle with taking off a clutch and sending it to the US is a total pain, in addition you help support local business and keep some money in the country, go through your local or closest reseller.

I do agree with much easier to deal with if local as with anything there can be a defect and keeping money I ones own area does help out......

All I am saying is my experience with South Bend has been excellent ........out of all my SBC sold RSmith has been the only problem and SBC did more then other clutch Companies would have done.........shim's is very common to have to use for any clutch Company.... the ones we sell have all suggested shims........

Hope nobody gets any defect in/on any product.........

Below may be a good source.......
