Hi I'm recently experiencing some problems with my clutch as when I push my foot on the pedal it's very hard to get into 1st and if I take my foot off the brake it starts to move slightly can anyone tell me what this is please. Many thanks. Sorry I have a mk1 Leon 1.9tdi fr.

The first thing I'd do is see if you've got the black end cap on the gearbox.
If yes then it's worth investing in a shim kit.
From what I've read these can potentially cure this clutch dragging problem along with the more common whining gearbox on deceleration.

Yh actually I have got that whining noise on deceleration as well. It's only 1st and reverse that I have trouble with. I'm not really good on cars so I'll get someone to have a look at it for me but thanks for your reply Thai

It could be the slave cylinder starting to fail, i had similar symptoms before mine failed. They are cheap enough if so, just difficult to change( at least on the petrol models, not 100% sure diesel is the same box)

Have you checked the clutch/brake fluid level?

Yh that's fine hasn't dropped an inch. I hope it's not going to be the slave

Maybe the slave or some other internal clutch problem then buddy. Not much you can do other than take the box out and see, and then you might as well replace the clutch and slave anyway.
