for the first time about 15,000 miles and 1 year after my remap i had clutch slip in 5th and 6th gear although i did drive the car hard the day before so maybe thats finished the clutch off , can i get just an uprated clutch disc and use the oem cover and Dual mass fly wheel?. say a sachs one or similar thats rated to way past the 306lbs my car makes? :think:

I got a Sachs Racing Clutch kit but kept my DMF. I was advised not to get the SMF upgrade, so didnt bother.

Been great ever since - I even had the map "Upgraded" to be more agressive post new clutch being fitted.

I had mine done last month and I bought;

- Sachs Performance Clutch Cover – 88 3082 000 826
- Sachs Performance Clutch Disc – 88 1864 999 980
- Sachs Dual Mass Flywheel – 2294 003 341
- OEM Release Bearing – OA5 141 671 E

All the above comes to ~£940. Labour is 3-4 hours to fit (mine was 3 @ £50 an hour +VAT).

I suppose you could use an OEM cover, but I'd be gutted if you had to replace it again with an uprated one; best to get it done properly first time round.
