So after my ibiza starting making noises like a steam train, i was informed by the garage that my clutch thrust bearing has gone.. has anyone got any indication on how much it is to replace one of these, so i hopefully won't be in too much shock by the time i'm handed the bill!

thanks

I cant help mate sorry....is it a cupra though?

Do you still have drive but sounds like a tractor?

Mine has developed a rattle when in neutral after it has warmed up, but when i dip the clutch the noise stops.

nah not a cupra, a baby 1.4!

just sounds like something rattling about, when the clutch is depressed it scrapes too.

hopefully nothing too major though... fingers crossed!

A worn thrust bearing will stop making noise if the clutch is disengaged (pedal down) then rattle when engaged, if you are getting rattling all the time there is something else amiss sorry mate!

Hello my freind =], my old ibiza, try changing gear box oil ( unlikly but if it is then thums up =]), if it isnt that then u can buy a full clutch kit with spring, friction plate and thrust bearing.
You should get a freind who is a mechanic and watch what he does. trust me when u do it once you never forget it!

hope this helps =]
