Code come up.... help

Just got vag-com up and running, gave my car a scan, its coming up with:
16514 - Oxygen (Lambda) sensor B1 S1: Malfunction in circuit

Have no idea what this means, no lights on dash and car seems to be running fine

It means your pre cat lambda probe or lambda probe wiring is screwed.

Clear the code and check back again after a few days worth of driving bud.

Ive noticed that the past couple of weeks my fuel consumption has increased, could this have something to do with the lambda sensor?

Yup, it's probably running a little richer due to not getting a correct reading from the probe mate.

ah right, how much is a new lambda probe roughly? best place to get one? and are they easy to fit?

I've just brought one for my Ibiza from the local SEAT stealer and it cost me 93 quid. You can get one from the parts guys on the forum for around 72 quid though.

It's a piece of cake to replace providing you've got a 22mm spanner and can get the car in the air

if you went through a deep puddle then its not the sensor, ive got exactly the same error, car was misfiring and erratic pulling away in traffic. the sensor has been replaced but still happens, same error still here though its lessened a bit now but still there.
