Balls to it, i will get the stealers to sort it. The current headlamps look tatty anyway. Might as well get full service done at same time.

This is gonna be an expensive week

You would have to get them aligned as well after, if you buy from ebay they will most likely be pattern ones not genuine ones I think they are the ones that have the body colour in the bottom of them. I take it your warranty has run out then. Replacing the headlight does not cure this in most cases your research should have told you that so don't waste money.

He needs a new as he burnt the lens on the current one trying to dry them out...

Just drilled the rear covers on mine as seen in a previous thread , will keep you posted on the results , easy to do , 5 min jobbie , must admit though , it is F**king annoying and your all right , it does make the car look crappy . This seems to be the only fault with my Tdi 130 though so I'm a happy bunny , fixed the rear washer prob ( connection under air box ) the only other bug bear I have is that with the 130 TDi its seems to be a bumper off job to replace any headlight bulbs , not looking forward to any blown bulb's .

Oh yeh I had the washer jet problem mine pooped of at the rear wiper end itself though.
The bulbs can be changed the side lights and indicator bulbs are the worst they destroy your hands and the stupid battery box gets in the way too. I found the hardest part is pulling the metal clips back they are so stiff and the one by the battery I think it s piece of plastic for the bumper is right in the way. Must be a right pain working in Seat servicing dept evey time you change a bulb!

However.... my driver side headlight now has a melt bubble in the middle

What an absolute tit i am, i really should just leave well alone.

We have a 1.2 with single headlamps and I took the covers off the back and removed the bulbs and pointed a hairdryer in there - both were pretty wet and it dried them up OK.

However went to put the bulbs back and realised that the bulb shields, which are on a sort of single stalk of metal, had bent upwards with the heat. Doh!

I very very gingerly pressed them down until there were centred on the end of the bulbs but was absolutely crapping myself in case they snapped.

I'm dreading taking it for MOT in case the beam pattern is all over the place.

Common problem - soome people have drilled out the back of the cover and fitted breather hoses to stop them condensing. Other thing to try is using a few packets of silica gel crystals taped to the inside of the cover (leave some of the packet surface exposed) to try and draw some of the moisture away.

Passenger side on mine started to get condensation when all the bad weather started...along with several other problems (boot wouldn't open/lock with remote..washer jet etc) anyway condensation cleared about a week ago but this Tues it was back, Wed was its MOT  but they never even said anything about it [B)] and it was pretty bad.

Just what ive read on here thats all, someone mentioned about it being an mot failure if it was bad enough.

Mind you as we all know, ones testers 'pass' is another's 'advisory' & another's 'failure'
