    Hi everyone,

I expect this has been asked a million times over but does anyone know the part number for the crankcase breather pipe for my LCR BAM 2004, the part that attaches the hockey puck and goes down to the t shaped join ( is that the PCV pipe? ) down near the dipstick at the front of the engine bay? Excuse my ignorance!

I had a diagram on my phone from a while ago but my phone is on the blink :(

    Best places to get?

Thanks for your help knowledgeable lot :):):):):)

If you don’t wanna replace with a catch can I’d get forge/ Creation motorsport silicone pipes to eliminate future problems :) can be found online

I fitted a catch can but what i was originally gunna do was get my local VAG specialist to order me the parts in that I needed to save the pissing around with part numbers and stuff

Hi mate Is your pipe split? I just noticed mine was ripped so I ordered a creation motorsport one, it wasn’t idling properly aswell!

It was on briefly and I got a code p0170 - fuel trim, something like that! I assumed it wasn’t fuelling properly because of this and the lumpy idle. Could you smell petrol when starting it? Like a very lean smell? If that makes sense lol

my code was p0171 fuel trim bank 1 system too lean, the petrol could be the blow-by smell that is leaking from the PCV system, I still smell it occasionally cus i'm venting my catch can to atmosphere.

I had a split in my PCV pipe under the inlet manifold, soon as i taped it up with duct tape the smell went the idle was fine and my lost ponies returned! :)

If you suspect a intake/PCV leak you can spend ages finding it, so have a good look first but then don't waste your time and just get it smoke tested!

I made my own smoke tester from a paint can, some rubber hose and a couple of pulls on my ecig hahaha, worked a treat

Yes that is more than likely the cause now that I think about it! And it’s whooshing under boost, a bit like a split in a boost pipe! I taped it up but it’s completely separated now, as I floored it earlier chasing a mk5 gti golf

Nice one mate that’s a brilliant idea actually! Thankfully I know for sure that pipe is split but I’ll look around the other pipes aswell! I know the T-piece is a bit oily! Also I have access to a smoke tester so I’ll get it hooked up tomorrow hopefully!

]Recently had a split hose after remap, it was the one under the hockey puck, it goes just infront of the manifold and into a T. Changed for silicone. Something still doesn't feel right though. I don't get a rough idle... but occasional a fluctuation of about 50rpm.

The pipe that goes to my hockey puck is all squashed too, I think I need to replace a fair few pipes by the looks of it? I'm assuming these pipes can cause all sorts of minor niggles?

Hi, my idle is like that aswell, but I’m not worrying about it too much as long as my car is running fine

Can cause minor Niggles and reasonably big problems and check engine lights, splits pcv pipe will cause car to run lean and will be down on power and fuel economy

Has anyone thought of the oil catch can install instead? It does away with most of the PCV piping doesn’t it?

Yeah it’s pretty easy hardest part is finding somewhere to mount it, do you know if you’re gunna vent to atmosphere or recirculate back in to the TIP

What are the pros and cons? I’m afraid I’m more accustom to diseasals than petroleum lol. I take it there’s a thread for a catchcan install on mk1 Leon’s?
