Cruise control stalk difference

I've noticed that some Mk3 FRs have a different cruise control setup. The majority have the Set/ Resume buttons at the end of the indicator stalk like I'm used to from before, but a few have an extra stalk below instead.

What is the difference between the two? I'm guessing its something to do with adaptive cruise or lane assist but not sure

I've also noticed there seems to be a 'batch' of FRs in that spec with the extra stalk. They all have 18in alloys, alcantara/ leather seats, convenience pack, tech pack and the seat sound system. Guessing maybe the driver assist pack and winter pack also? Not sure if anyone else is familiar with these particular cars but they are literally loaded to the hill with kit!

I confirm that the third stalk is for cars with driver assist pack. In this case (with driver assist) the end of the indicator stalk is for activating/deactivating lane assist.

I have the driver assist pack and had the opportunity to compare against a car without the driver assist pack on Friday. Definitely prefer the third stalk, I just think it makes it far easier and less cumbersome to use. When it was on the indicator stalk I found myself indicating accidentally once or twice (although that could be down to being less familiar with it!)

Yeah, I totally agree. Coming from a Mk2 with the buttons on the end of the indicator stalk, the dedicated stalk is much much better.

I like being able to just nudge the stalk up and down to raise and lower the speed, much more convenient than holding down buttons. Also being able to set the cruise and then round it off to the nearest 5mph increment pleases my OCD :)

I prefer the third stalk now that I'm used to it as there's no longer a risk of indication.

What I do miss is the single mph increment from the Mk2!

Pulling the stalk towards you while set increases by 1mph and pressing the button decreases by 1mph
