Cupra 300 front bumper vs 290/280

It’s technically not a stripe and was done based on my own photoshops.

For the black bit I got a local vinyl wrapper recommended by @paddy6789 to do it. I didn’t want gaps and a really good line because I’m picky.

So basically the bottom part of the door is wrapped in black to avoid any pesky white bits or bad line ups. The top line is then cut to match the line of the crease in the door. With a little help from me he then cut the front door in a curve to avoid a naff stop at the door edge near the front.

The Cupra wording and logo I got in advance off of eBay and stuck on myself.
Thanks for that i’ll look into doing something similar when I get the front bumper done with PPF. Yours looks great!

Ok so I know it’s not a ‘front’ bumper question but a bumper question nonetheless...
Has anyone painted/wrapped/sprayed their black plastic part of rear bumper on the Cupra?

The attached image is the look I’m going for (the gloss black Rieger splitter with the rear bumper insert colour coded to match) I’m led to believe a traditional vinyl wrap won’t bond to the plastic. Heard of but never used plasti dip so not sure about that. So is painting the only option?

Any help would be appreciated.

I had mine painted, and the standard diffuser...

Thanks Damo, were you happy with the finish when up close? Did the body shop manage to do it all with the bumper attached?
No, they were repairing the rear end after someone drove in the back of my wife. So I paid the body shop extra to paint it.

They smoothed the plastic down before painting it and fitting to the new bumper.

From memory he wanted £150 to do the car.

Reviving an old thread here.

Any reason this will not work with the 300 ? I can't see why not... ?

I've looked at this myself, as wanted to put my shorter plate back on and hide the screw holes from the original dealer plate.

However the angles just don't work. I'll try and find the photoshop I did, however as the plate has a recess and the angles are different, it looked odd.

I thought the 300 was pre facelift, or was it half way between the two?

This is what I mean...

I thought the 300 was pre facelift, or was it half way between the two?
Nope...

Here are all the options:

Pre face lift:

265 3 door - Manual FWD with VAQ Diff
280/290 3/5 door and ST - Manual FWD with VAQ Diff
280/290 3/5 door and ST - DSG FWD with VAQ Diff

Face lift Pre WLTP (No PPF/GPF):

300 3/5 door and ST - Manual FWD with VAQ Diff
300 3/5 door - DSG FWD with VAQ Diff
300 ST - DSG FWD with VAQ Diff (NOT available in UK)
300 ST - DSG 4Drive
#R 310 - Manual with VAQ Diff
#R 300 - DSG with VAQ Diff (NOT available in UK)
Carbon Edition 300 ST - DSG 4Drive

Face lift Post WLTP (With PPF/GPF):

Early version of the below still had red calipers, normal flags and Chrome S badges. However now its Black Calipers, Black Flags and Copper S badges:

290 3/5 door - DSG FWD with VAQ Diff
290 ST - DSG FWD with VAQ Diff (NOT available in UK)
300 ST - DSG 4Drive
#R ST 300 - DSG 4Drive
#R ST 350 ABT - DSG 4Drive (UK Only)

For some reason Seat UK didn't make available the ST with DSG FWD when the face lift came out. That being despite the press saying it was the most fun of the 3 ST options at the press event.

Ah I see. Good job I asked before pressing buy haha

Shame such small changes make such a difference, it really doesn't line up right.

Cheers for your help !

If you had a short registration, it would be doable, but a lot of work for not little effect.

You'd need to fill the recess and smooth it out then respray of course. Then you could wrap/paint the section accordingly, then refit the small plate.
