Hi,

I've just bought a 1 year old Cupra. I'm finding that temp gets up to 90 in no time - it has been out in the sun all day but today it lit a led every 30 seconds when I went out in it at a out 8pm and git to 90 in about 3 or 4 mins.

Does this sound right? I'm not sure I trust these digital led temperature guages

The coolant and oil levels are fine.

Thoughts?

I have a MK2. When I left work today, my temp was at 50 before I got out of the car park. Mine goes up to about 84 if I'm moving, creeps up to 90 sitting at lights. But anything <100 I wouldn't worry. Coolant won't boil at below water temperature if that makes sense.

Coolant temp rises quickly, it's the oil temp that takes 10/15minutes or so to get to 90-100

Thanks. I thought the dashboard guage was the oil, not coolant.

Makes sense now. Not so worried :)

I think I can view the oil temp through one of the menus right?

Yeah you can view it under "drive data" between the dials
