Now I'm getting really confused. Having gone to the trouble of launching Cupra as a standalone brand, along with it's very own website, SEAT UK have now embedded all the same details (but in the SEAT style) in their own website (https://www.seat.co.uk/new-cars/cupra-ateca/overview.html). The only weird anomaly is that the configurator takes you to the Cupra configurator rather than using the existing SEAT one.

Is Cupra supposed to be a standalone sub-brand or not ?!?!?!?

It is, but I suppose the way they get people to know about it is by linking it into the main SEAT brand. As your general joe bloggs is not going to know that Cupra is a sub brand, or even care.

All the media hype suggests Cupra is to SEAT as Abarth is to Fiat or DS is to Citroen, neither of which are prominently linked through from their parent site.

The original Cupra site was linked through from the SEAT site, but they now have the same information duplicated. I was wondering if this was some sort of sign of marketing failure...
