I doubt it, the 320 would have to been running a blower of some sort or a serious nitrous shot. The E30 320i was nice and smooth but slow, 95 kw against 134 kw. No chance, unless the cupra was tied to an anchor.

Dont forget to add the long front-rear prop sapping useable power as it spins away.!

Will have to allow myself a trip out with weight saving measures in place to see if the old girl (54 plate) has still got it!

Said measures will consist of removal of baby seat, removal of buggy from boot, removal of loud shreiking noise from rear seat telling me to slow down... blah de blah!

I thought bmw's where all fast!
My girlfriend friend bf has a 318ti and he thought it ment turbo injection!
and said he'll whip mine!
so i took him for a spin and :-o

and when i looked up Ti means "touring international"

so i can't wait till i drop the bomb on him!

could off been a standard Cupra Tdi with body kit?

anyway jenk what response did you expect

i have the knowelege of what cars will beat mine, so i don't even bother EVo's etc, called respect! and would nether dream posting on a owners car stating my less powerful car killed one of theirs.

best surpise recently was keeping up with a honda s2000 up to 80 he even gave me a thumbs up bless! very nice car will kill me on a track!

He clearly is a very bright boy and knows his stuff!

Would have thought he'd suss it out by the absense of lots of extra pipework under the hood and a hissing/whooshing sound when he drives it!

Oh, and no, not all BMW's are fast! And if you own a 3 series, BMW actually stands for Breaksdown Most Weekends!!!

Telford ay it...
i only wanted to find out if it was someone on here, chill.

id never heard of one but its something to get round italys taxation laws or somat, by not branding it as an m3 tax was alot cheaper.

just found this site

http://www.bimmerforums.com/engine_faq/

look at the s14 engine this will confirm the italian 320 being basically an m3.
and ermm id hardly say it was underpowered compared to a cupra.

Anyhot a leon cupra r is on my list for my next car [B)]

then a roundabout appeared and he went round it like straight line..... and that was that.

was he playing?

Would imagine he was simply blending as much gas as required to let you stay close-ish witht he intent of fully whooping you after a short distance!

I would!

the burbs...
I would imagine with that power, it would be a pretty close run thing, over a short run, the rear wheel drive would have a advantage, but over a longer run, the poor E30 areodynamics would count against it, if I remember correctly it had a drag coefficent of 0.37 with 205 section tyres.

Sneaky italians putting a M3 motor in 320, I like that:D , must be quite a Qcar, does it have the M3 body kit and rims or it is standard looking ?
