I suspect its likely to be the new Crossover. So think more sporty 4x4, like the MINI Paceman :foot:

Would make sense looks very much like the rear end of the Porsche Cayenne. However if you look at the images of the leon in the other mk4 thread the back end looks identical to the one in the image.

    Exciting times....

This model was advised as the first stand-alone Cupra model as opposed to being based on previous SEAT models.

Its supposed sit between the Ateca and Tarraco.
    It's essentially an Ateca coupe.

It was also suggested that a SEAT version could follow afterwards.

SUVs are the in thing these days, people seem to want them.It was only a matter of time before the hot ones were going to be the in thing.

This will be a Cupra only car, not available as as SEAT (at least as launch)

Agree! 245PS surely that will be the base model. Wonder what the torque is (or did I miss it)

I agree. As a halo car you would have thought it would have at least as much power as the Ateca. It will be interesting to see performance and economy figures for it.

Whatever they call it, I would not be interested unless it had at least the Ateca's power, I don't want to go backwards.

Had another look, those seats look so cool, look like they're out of a Lambo.

Also like the copper detailing on the exhaust trims, but I suspect they'll be fake tips similar to the Golf R Estate before the facelift.

So it’s a hybrid that has less power than the ateca with only 245ps. I assume they are relying on the electric motors to get the initial acceleration so it has the 0-60 time of the 300 ateca but with a smaller petrol engine?

Why? It will be as quick or even quicker with more torque from the electric unit.

Well as there is no 0 to 60 time yet, I still don't think 245 total will be enough to give a quicker time than a 300+ Leon Cupra.

Only time will tell once the car gets tested and reviewed by the mags, where was the 5 secs from as Cupra have not said anything in their blurbs

Worth mentioning that although the paper numbers say the GTi is quicker than the GTE, the GTE is closer to the R in 0-60. So lot to be said about electric.

    Not that I’d want one.
