right ive had this problem with my cv boot ive changed 2 now on the passenger side in 2 months and it keeps doin the same thing everytime theres grease everywhere behind the wheel and it is not split and is still on where it should be, ive been using the genuine vag ones on there and they are like plastic also it makes a feint rubbin/clickin noise but i changed the cv joint in the last 2 months! im sure its the plastic cv boot makin the noise as its never done it before i changed the cv joint.

any help appreciated, also thinkin of tryin to get a rubber cv boot but dont want to take it off again if its not goin to do it and the car is quite low so im thinkin this dont help it as the boot only has a few mm clearance from the bottom of the suspention leg

ye all bushes look ok no splits in any im runnin the car quite low the shaft is in corectly but does move in an out a few mm not much using all new parts from trade parts so genuine parts the last boot was rubbin on the bottom of the suspention leg the boot is like plastic so it does not flex much like the old rubber ones do so i may try one of these.

cheers for the reply m8

Its the crappy plastic boot Ga, I had the same problem.

The plastic won't/can't compress and create a tight seal, so the grease can escape. The rubber boot fits nice onto the shaft/CV and seals perfect.

Also, I found the tighter I did the boot clips up with the plastic one, the worse it got.
