Decided to get Cupra in 2008 - based on list price of options not much difference

Done a quick calculation on spec I want, and was thinking of either of the FR's.

However, when I look at the options I want, and calculate the costs, there is not a lot of difference between them all - as the Cupra has 18" tyres and Xenon's as standard - over £1200 if bought as options on the others.

Has anyone received a reasonable discount yet on the Cupra - this might be the sticking point as could get around £2000 off the price of the FR's from drivethedeal.com - not sure if I could get that with the Cupra, even in 1 year.

Anyhow, here's how I broke it all down...

_________FR PETROL DSG___FR TDI___CUPRA
BASIC CAR________17895___17495___19595
METALLIC PAINT_____350_____350_____350
BLUETOOTH_________250_____250_____250
CONVENIENCE_______195_____195_____195
WINTER____________275_____275_____150
18" TYRES__________350_____350
XENON LIGHTS______870_____870

(excuse formatting - bloody HTML ignoring spaces!)

Insurance is only around £100 more for the Cupra at £580 so not too bad.

Just need to save up now!

Which ever one you get you'll be happy! Only thing I would say is that you aren't comparing like with like as in you are specing the FR TFSI with DSG which adds another £900 ish.

I could be wrong but don't think the winter pack on the Cupra is the same as the FRs (something about no heated washer jets, obviously Cupra already has headlamp wash - but could be wrong)

If you can wait til next year the Cupra maybe best bet in terms of resale value, desireability, fun, and who knows they may have spec'd side skirts as standard by then!

Cheers - will be May 2008 at the earliest when I order so maybe will be spec'd up! DSG - if I did go for the FR Petrol would probably go for this - even though more expensive. But whichever as you say - sure i'll be pleased!
